Guidelines for Hudson View Poetry Digest

A Hudson View Poetry Digest, First Edition First Issue print was released during December 2006.

Hudson View encourages new and established writers to submit original creations, composed using traditional and experimental technique.  We accept simultaneous submissions, however, A Hudson View print digest does not accept previously published poems.  A Hudson View is part of Skyline Literary Community, a virtual colony of poets and artists who maintain a high standard of excellent literature and original artwork.

Hudson View is published quarterly:  Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.  We accept submissions year round, and may ask to hold pieces for future issues or for Expressions, A Literary Collection: http://www.skylinestories.us.

We do not pay for poetry or offer contributor copies, but we'll showcase your work in a fabulous book that is subscribed to by the New York Public Library, Rockefeller Library @ Brown University  in  Rhode Island, and University of Wisconsin Madison Library, UC Berkeley, and more libraries and reader homes as we grow. We also share our books with the Poet's House in NYC when possible. Hudson is an 84 page perfect bound book, 5.5 x 8.5 with laminated color covers. Copies of A Hudson View may be purchased for $11.00 (check) or $10.50 paypal credit card, shipped within the continental USA. Purchase of a book is not necessary for publication.

  • Although we would like to reply to every submission, due to lack of resources, it is no longer possible.  Please be assured that we read all submitted poetry.

  • If your poetry is accepted, you will usually hear from us within 2 - 4 months.

  • We will always contact poets before publishing, to confirm that their poetry is still available.

  • All styles and poetic themes will be considered.  Poems can be of any length.  Poems should be edited and ready for publication, typed in a combination of lower and upper case or lower case only. Please don't submit poetry typed in all upper case.  We will have to return it.
  • Poetry is not edited, therefore, please submit final form, as accepted poetry will be published and printed "as is".  We no longer email pdf galleys, but will confirm via email.
  • Include a 75 word THIRD PERSON BIO with your submission - even if we've published your poetry before.  We don't hold past files.
  • Please submit at least 4 to 5 poems in each email submission.
  • Send all poems inside ONE email. We cannot open attachments.  Include your email address and a third person bio of no more than 75 words.

Although we may archive select poetry online, all poetry remains the sole property of the poets who submit them. Poets reserve all rights to their work, at all times.  Please read our Copyright information.

Artists and illustrators retain sole rights to their art, at all times.
